A busy week and lots of news

These are a few new designs just delivered to In the Mix in Vacaville today.

It's been a busy week photographing and listing lots of inventory remaining from my summer and fall shows in my Etsy shop. You can find, new handcrafted earrings, embossed and patina necklaces, and a few art bead designs.

I listed  some of my new bracelet/necklace wrap designs. Lots of choices including a few listed as sets with really great package discounts. I also posted a discount code for coordinating designs. Fall Designs..........En La Lumie're and WaterSouls Studios

Just a few new designs I have been working on this past couple weeks. 

I have busy creating a new fall collection of necklace and bracelets that can be worn several ways to stack and wrap with my art beads or patina metal necklaces and bracelets for a boho chic layered look.

We are so excited to announce Michael's WaterSouls Studios line of hand-forged brass, and sterling earrings and bronze clay earrings and necklaces will now be featured at "In The Mix".

This weekend we will be showing our summer and fall collections right here in Vacaville CA at our favorite ladies boutique "In the Mix" at 11 Town Square in downtown Vacaville.

Designs in the Light

My new Watercolor Collection

My inspiration comes from reflecting back 10 years ago to my painting days.  

I dabbled in impressionist style painting. My medium was acrylic on canvas. I loved this style because I was not skilled at detail. I could use my brushes to create landscapes that were inspired by some of the pages in my art books mainly Monet. I was able to let myself go into my own little world. I took some classes and by the end I created this painting that hangs in my studio.  Most of my work was inspired by photographs but this one came from of my imagination after yearly trips to the beautiful state of Tennessee. I used to pack my paints and spent hours at my in laws cottage deck painting. I love the colors in this one. Someday I would love to pick up a brush and canvas again but for now all of my art is in learning techniques and designing artisan jewelry.

I was first introduced to altered metals by my friend Amanda Austin. For a little over a year or so I have worked to find  my own style of altered and embossed metals, brass and copper, embossing, inks and patina's. I have been playing and here is a sneak peak at several of my designs. If you caught my Bead Soup blog post I mentioned I had one necklace I was not including. I think I needed another reason to invite you back.

This necklace was designed with these metals, patina chain, the magnesite wire wrapped link my Bead Soup partner Tania Spivey sent me, lamp work drop and sari silk in two pretty colors. It's hard to capture it perfectly but it is a peachy orange and teal. 

 I love the way these are turning out so watch for more of these designs in my Etsy shop.

My Bead Trends, February 2013 Review

February 2013 Bead Trends. The romantic time of year for handcrafted jewelry an issue you don't want to miss

Lacy Plum February 2013

My necklace design this month Lacy Plum on p. 98-99 features a beautiful lavender ceramic heart by Gaea. I added copper chain,  Czech glass beads,  faceted Amethyst in two colors, another Gaea ceramic bead that I heat patina ed the wire and made into a copper link,  a fresh water pearl,
 and Miss Fickle Media clasp at the focal point with a glass bead and little heart pearl.
