Mike and I love fall, it's his birthday month, our favorite time of year as the weather begins to change and we look forward to our last few months of business for the year. This year has been especially busy and exciting. We changed our business name, rebranded and began designing jewelry together.

We wrapped up our last juried outdoor show the beginning of October. Pleasant Hill was  was our 8th art and wine show of the year. All season we enjoyed meeting many new customers and many returning ladies as well. We loved the ladies who brought their friends and family and walked out wearing their new "Designs in the Light" jewelry.

Just a a couple pictures to share with you.

We took a quick long overdue trip to Oregon to visit our family. It was wonderful getting to play with our grandchildren, and do many of the things we love including walks and photography on the beach. We enjoyed some fresh seafood, shopping and good company. It was short but we came home feeling refreshed, happy and ready for a very busy month of designing.

We also signed up a new shop up at Bandon Dunes Golf Pro Shop in Bandon,  Oregon. This is exciting for us with the international golfers from all over the world. If you visit Bandon, now you can find an assortment of our designs from our statement pieces, beaded wraps, beach designs and earrings.

Upon arrival from our trip we hit the design table and I am working on lots of new color-ways of beaded jewelry. This beaded part of our line does very well at our shows where ladies can try on several coordinating pieces to achieve the look they are going for. Worn alone or layered the colors coordinate beautifully with the seasons fashion. 

 Mike spent the whole week on bronze clay and has some gorgeous focal's for a new line of convertible necklaces we are introducing this fall. We will offer a selection of focal's and beaded backs that are inter-changeable. This way you can change with the seasons and enjoy the necklace all year. Next, he is on to more new earring designs. His customers love his earrings, every part is handmade and they are always super comfortable. Each one is special and mostly one of a kind. 

Also on the design table. We also have new colors coming in Traveling Boho Bracelets. These are very popular for us and we nearly sold out at our shows. That's a good thing!!

....November.... We will be participating for the third year in a row at at the Held's annual Holiday Trunk show November 6th from 5-8 pm. You can find gourmet foods, handmade gifts and our handcrafted jewelry in a relaxed atmosphere.

We have two more big shows!! Just in time for the holidays.

 Harvest Festivals coming in November. They are inside holiday shows. This will be our first time at Harvest Festivals and we look forward to sharing our largest collections in time for the holidays.

Follow the Light

What is happening this week

We have everything from art wood tile pieces, handmade earrings and $20 earrings great for gifts

We receive so many compliments on our displays and designs. We were thrilled to have so many return customers the last couple shows. Ladies coming in to buy additional pieces and bringing their friends.
That is what this is all about. The interaction with our customers. We take the time to make adjustments to the bracelets, adding length or making things fit a bit differently. Most everyone wants to wear their new treasures as they walk around the show. What a compliment!!

We had the pleasure of meeting a sweet new friend who has been following my work for a few years.  We chatted about our style and how Mike and I have renamed, rebranded and brought our line to the point we are at currently in our journey. We also got to spend some time with one of our favorite art bead designers, Tina Francis and her husband Ken. This summer I designed with her beach pieces and some really cute acorns that I made art bead necklaces with. I was a bit surprised when I was about to show her some of them, most have sold. Thats always a good thing!!

We have a few items that are really hot sellers for us right now. The Traveling Boho Wrap Bracelets are going fast. We are down to just a couple colors. Not to worry, they are first on my asap list to make more in assorted colors including black and bronze, teal, and several of my fall collection colors.
You can reserve a color, just send a request.  They sell for $120 each. Some of our customers are collecting several colors to suit their wardrobe. 

 Mike has a long list of bronze pieces to complete in the next couple weeks and more of our Urban Boho art bead earrings. We have a brand new design in the works that is going to be fantastic using his bronze or copper focal's and my beaded work.

He is also teaching his beginning bronze clay class the first weekend of November at Beads on Main in downtown Vacaville. He plans to teach a follow up intermediate class in Jan- Feb. If you are interested sign up early as this class in in demand.

We had a lovely weekend, even with the hot weather, possibly our last out door show of this season. Not to worry we have inside shows coming and they are bigger than ever. We are scheduled to do a trunk show at the Held's Holiday show Nov 6th, and Sacramento and San Jose Harvest Festivals the last two weekends in Nov. "Follow the Light" 

For this week we are taking off a few days and traveling to see our grand kiddos on the Oregon Coast. It will be our first little mini vacation in over 2 1/2 years. We work 7 days a week with a time out for our local grandkids so this long over due and we will come back to a serious month of designing for our holiday season sales.

Sadly our next scheduled show in this coming weekend in Napa was canceled due to severe earthquake damage on the 24th of August. The town is in repair and getting business back for their merchants. We have been through a large earthquake in Santa Cruz in 89' and we wish everyone affected speedy recovery. We look forward to spending time in one of our favorite areas of CA in the near future.

Mike and I are busy in the studio the next couple weeks completing our fall collections. We are excited as we prepare for our trunk show at In the Mix Boutique 11 Friday Night from 4-8 on Sept. 12th, Town Square in  Downtown Vacaville, . We hope to meet many of our faithful customers that have supported us at this fantastic ladies boutique. Raffle drawings with purchase, yummy treats and lots of new designs to share.

We are so lucky to design for "In the Mix". Check out their gorgeous styles and colors in the new fall fashion collections.  They are arriving over the next few weeks so be sure not to miss that. Darci brings in amazing designs and she and her staff love helping you put it all together. It just gets better every season!!

This month I will be posting several of our new color combos for fall. Just to tempt you think pumpkin, orange, cranberry, teal, cobalt, black, bronze, chocolate brown.

July is here!! Fourth of July

July is here and we have returned from a short family trip to Tennessee. Lots happening in our lives as we move into the 2nd half of the year. Hard to believe July is here already......

 This new collection includes handcrafted lamp work glass, patina metals, and agate stone all with handmade argentium silver ear wires. Mike's earrings are so comfortable. He spends time on every single detail making his earrings little works of art that you will love to add to your jewelry wardrobe.  

This weekend we will have several surprises. Check in on our website at Designs in the Light and Designs in the Light on July 4th as we celebrate Independence day and my birthday. It's always nice to see patriotic celebrations.

I always used to think the parties and fireworks were partly for me. Being a 4th of July baby can be fun. These days I enjoy spending time with my family and reminiscing about many celebrations over the years. Some of my favorite fireworks were enjoyed at the Beach in CA and OR, on Lake Tahoe from my parents boat, and lots of neighborhood parks to name a few that come to mind.

This Saturday July 5th we will be showing at In the Mix Boutique in downtown Vacaville.  There is a  Saturday Farmers Market and then a Blues Fest with live music all weekend. Come down and see us from around 11- 5. If you have never visited In the Mix you have to come out. Darci is bringing the best woman's fashion to the Bay Area. Mike and I design for "In the Mix" fashion year around allowing you to find the cutest clothing, accessories and handcrafted jewelry for the perfect shopping experience!!

Mike and I will be there showing our new earring collections, bohemian beaded jewelry,  traveling boho bracelets, summer anklets and more.
