12/26/10

The day after Christmas and I am loading up my shop for Valentines Day. Who ever thought of the schedule for retail is nuts. I will play the game as not to miss out, but I did wait until today the 26th of December. I waited to list Christmas items until after I had successfully shown my fall jewelry. It's all a balancing act. I was a sales rep in the gift industry in the late 80's early 90's and we sold the holidays about 6 months in advance. It is an advantage to think ahead when you are attempting to get published as you need to submit at least 6 months ahead. It is one way of being prepared. It is clearly another thing to make time fly faster that it already does. So what is the true value of the season we are trying to capture? Is is the exciting new red color? Pastels, beach theme, and back to leaves? Or is it the next big color as in the Pantone color of the year? Well I am so excited to say I listed my first "honeysuckle" necklace just today. I wanted to show I was on top of things. So as I make my way in this new business and come to the end of 2010 I just wanted to let you know, I am thinking things through and I will try my best to be ahead of the curve. Thanks for following me on this journey.
