Where did summer go?

What we have been up to this summer........

Since my last post, some summer fun and hard to believe summer is almost over. We skipped vacation this year but found lots of things to keep us busy.

We prepared all month for our Art and Wine show in Alameda CA. the last weekend of July. We met some new friends and sold our jewelry.
Here we are busy at work. Really we do work very hard!! The weather was pleasant this time, in the 70-80's.

We decided to make get back to healthy choices, something we are very good at so we made several trips to the country fruit stand and farmers market and stocked up on wonderful vege's and summer fruit for juicing and lots of vegetarian meals. Then we went to work on the yummy recipes we love to cook.

We went to a bead show in Concord and picked up some gorgeous stone for Mike's earring designs as he builds new hand forged wire wrapped jewelry for our fall shows. He is also going to be working with "In the Mix" boutique in Vacaville. I have sold my designs there since last fall so we are super excited about this opportunity with Darci. You can meet us in person for a trunk show Labor day weekend as the town fills up for the music and brew fest.

Gorgeous strands of Lapis, Black Spinel, Smoky Quartz, Blue Sapphire, and Ruby and Garnet. This is not a great picture but the light is incredible.

Great Grandma Mary came to visit. The kids were so excited and wow did we have a wonderful time with her. She was an incredible help with cooking, cleaning, playing with the kids and lots of late night talks. We had many years of catching up to do and I think we nearly caught up with the last 44 years. That is a lot of catching up!!
She was here for our sweet Natalie's first birthday party.

The kids first day of school. Seems that is the beginning of the realization summer is already almost over. Where does the time go? We did fit in a few walks and trips to the park. Mary and Alexa made a trip to the neighborhood gazebo with a packed lunch in a paper bag with original art and a clean peanut butter cup with Lemonade. Alexa thought that was so cool.

We ate yummy plums, nectarines, berries, and more.

We baked chocolate chip, oatmeal walnut, hemp seed, coconut cookies.
They were a hit. The kids kept coming back for more.
I added a couple new ingredients and will make these again.

We ate breakfast and brunch out on the patio. I am so excited because we now have a table to work on when it cools down. I can bring some beads down from my studio and work. It's a table from our shows. Why didn't we think about this sooner?

We went to church with Mary and the kids and then had lunch at their favorite lunch place "The Habit" and then we found a new frozen yogurt place called Pink Berry right next to Whole Foods. Tay had original with Nutella topping. Wow decadent.

Sunday as we are waiting at the train station, the kids filled in coloring books and puzzles with Grandpa. A big deal, the train station that is!!

Tears for the girls in the family as we said good bye for now to sweet grandma Mary. We will miss her.
