Bead Trends April 2012

Bead Trends April 2012
Each month I wait for my issue of Bead Trends, this month the mail took a little bit longer so this post ready to go.

I have been lucky to have been in each issue since March of 2011. That is a thrill and a goal I set for myself as I attempt to design something new and of the standard for a magazine of this quality each month.

First I have to talk about these earrings. I love these earrings by Erin Strother. The details are beautiful with a cool bohemian elegance.

Congratulations to this months Designer Highlight Diana Shiraishi, I especially love the Amber Sky.

This month I had three designs chosen for this spring issue.

P. 86-87 Spring Garden Earrings
I designed these earrings with amazing lamp work glass drops are handcrafted by Raida of Havana Beads. One is a mat peach and swirls of greens, umber, and peach in the other one. A peach Picasso bead and Vintaj Brass filigree butterfly, sparrow and hand crafted brass ear wires complete this pair.

Springtime Garden Necklace on page 116-117.

This is one of my favorite necklace designs ever.

The romance of the focal with the stoneware bird by Etsy artist Libra Sun and the amazing birds nest clasp by Etsy artist Erin of Tesori Trovati.

The softness of the hand dyed silk ribbon and the fringe ribbon weaving through the design. The brass filigree butterfly and peach freshwater pearls with the aquamarine and boro glass with the same colors swirling through in beautiful light by Amanda of Sea Shore Glass.

This Sea Shore Glass boro has all the colors of the necklace.

The coordinating earrings in spring colors and lamp work glass by Havana Beads.

This month I also must mention Amanda's Bracelet on p. 60-61, love those beads and colors,  Raidas, necklace, on p. 42-43, very elegant, Kristi's earrings on p. 80, love her patina on the brass, and Suzette Bently's necklace on p. 112-113, love the colors and textures and Molly Alexanders necklace on p.90-91. It is elegant and wonderful beadwork and wire wrap. Would love a closer look at this one.

Thanks again to Bead Trends for publishing this amazing magazine.

You can find my designs in my shop under published designs just in time for mothers day

    1. Raida, for the longest time I was a bit selfish and didn't want to share were I got your headpins. As you know I have designed with most of them. I am so thankful you were my first bead soup partner. We have had a wonderful sharing relationship.

  2. Kudos! I know that getting published each month is a huge triumph. I set that as my goal in 2010 and it was a lot of work. Your designs are elegant and stately with a touch of whimsy and I love them. I especially love seeing that clasp make an appearance as I only made 2 or three of them and it reminds me that I saved one for myself! So proud of you! Congratulations!
    Enjoy the day!

    1. Thank you Miss Erin, I love that clasp too and it was so special I am just thankful I was able to find a design as special. Another one I would love to keep. Can't keep them all. You should make more variations of this. Another idea!!

    1. Thank you Roxanne,
I submit every month and some designs are not chosen. I have been very fortunate to be accepted every month consecutively since my first issue March 2011. I have a goal every month to make each piece as special as I can and follow their call. Thanks for stoping by.
