Time flies, tick, tick, tick!!

December 11??? What?? I am completely blown away that this year is in the final month. I have been on a roller coaster ride this year with my business, my health, and my life. I will talk more about that in a couple weeks.

Right now I am sitting here doing what I do and trying to catch up with my computer work after completing my last show for the year. I am so far behind in everything including cleaning my studio. putting away the last three shows, designing for publication, marketing my shop, designing holiday looking jewelry.

Now I have to make a decision. Do I dig through my floor to ceiling filled garage and try to decorate for Christmas? I am that girl who collected gorgeous ornaments and decorated every room in my homes over the years. The only time in the last 36 years that Christmas decorating did not happen is when we moved right after Christmas and several years when we traveled to visit family.

What should I do? I have three darling grandchildren who live across the street and no decorations at grandmas house.  I do have presents for them. I do have to wrap them yet. I have baked a few holiday goodies they visit each day for. Tomorrow is a new day. One day closer and orders to prepare for delivery. I guess time will tell. I shared this story because maybe I am not alone. Maybe someone might find it humorous and I believe this blog is part of my story I need to work at to keep you interested.

I will have a better story next time. Wherever you are in your holiday plans if you see this story and can make me feel better leave a comment. See you soon.

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog and following it. You do beautiful jewellery creations. I spent all of yesterday afternoon packing presents, writing cards and still lots more to pack.... no decorations up in my house yet, and yes like yourself, I find it hard to start every year....

  2. I'm right there with you. I've always decorated the home for Christmas. Four trees, gorgeous greenery and handmade bows on the fireplace and the front porch, a collection of snowmen, Advent candles, huge wreaths, and so much more. This year there is one tree, decorated by my 15 year old daughter, and the Advent candles. I just don't seem to have the energy, and hubby is being sort of bah humbug this year. Hopefully next year will be better, but with the kids getting older and two already out of the house, it just gets harder to make myself do it.

  3. Do what you can. How about inviting those grandbabies over to decorate simply? It can even be a construction paper tree on the window with daubs of paint and scraps of paper. You will make it memorable no matter what!
    Enjoy the day, Miss Cherrie!

  4. You're not alone! I have some small decorations up, no tree, a couple of presents (unwrapped) and not sure when anything will get done. This has been a difficult year, so my thought is as long as I'm with my family everything will be just fine and I'm happy.

  5. Thanks ladies, Erin you are always full of ideas. I found a golden reindeer and some iced burgundy things and some candles. That may be it this year. The kids don't seem to notice the rest.
Less than a week and I still have to wrap their gifts and prepare for two different family dinners we are attending on Saturday and Sunday. All in all I will be happy to ring in a new year. So many things to do to get on track for next year. Its all good.
