November Bead Trends 2012 is here!!

It's hard to believe we are nearing the end of another year. Fall is here along with the pumpkins and the November 2012 issue.

Before we know it we will be eating turkey, and then the holiday season is here and in full swing........

This month the cover artist is Wenche Brennbakk. Her "Sparkling Pyrite" necklace is lovely. I have long been a fan of her designs. Wench also ends this issue with  p. 112-115 "My Sparkling Pyrite" Really beautiful and unique designs. Congratulations on the beautiful designs.

A few of my friends and new designers to me....... I can't list them all.

Kristy Abner p. 12-13 "Vintage Romance" is really cute with one of my favorite color combos. It features a art wood tile from my friend J Lynn Jewels and I love the soft pattern.

Helen Bowen p. 16-17 "The Winter Sea" bracelet and earrings. I love her description of colors of the sea in winter as her inspiration. Check out her clasp and charm. Very unique.

Joanne Shockey p. 18-19 "Silver Beach Bracelet" I love the beach and anything that reminds me of it. This bracelet is full of lovely beach beads as you follow the deign. The toggle is perfect for this design.

Michelle Castillo p. 40-41 "Twisted Crystal" This necklace is a similar design to a necklace my husband gave me several years ago as a gift. I don't know who that designer was, it was before my jewelry career began. It is a fun design.

Erin Strother p. 82-83 "Otherwise Occupied" I love the flow on this mixed media necklace. Lots of things to look at. Very romantic boho chic.

Kristin Oppold p. 84-87 "Love is Seasonless" You have to read the inspiration on this necklace and then study this design. There are so many parts to this story is is featured on 4 pages. Very sweet tribute Kristen.

Kristi Harrison p. 90-92  "Yesterday's Door" I LOVE this necklace and earrings set.  Love shabby chic at its best and this is really pretty.

Cathy Obemma p. 96-97 "Autumn Lovers Bracelet" What a fun charm bracelet. I love all the colors and textures.

Janice Everett p. 100-101 "Through the Looking Glass" A pretty way to treat a filigree piece. Great for the holidays.

Julie Vargas p. 102-103 "Rustic Stone" How cool is that? Who knew we could make cool serving pieces like that? Love it.

Penny Neville p.110-111 "Material Girl" is a lovely, romantic, necklace, perfect for a wedding or a special event.

My design this month on p. 32-34 "Sienna Necklace and Earrings.

An overview of this necklace. The focal and earring altered brass are by my friend Amanda Austin. There is an error in the supply section I wanted to correct. I built a copper bezel around the focal on this piece with the inspiration and help of my husband Mike to give it a unique look. I really like this effect.

In the spring I  took a class on clasps and closures from Deryn Mentock. The handmade copper clasp and figure 8 link and the horse shoe bail are some of the techniques I acquired.  I used a heat patina technique and I love what that does to the copper.

The beads in this necklace are gorgeous garnets, multi colored rondells and leaves. A very pretty raku bead by Dean of Bubby and McGurk.  Combined with copper wire wrap and copper chain.

The earrings feature Amanda's altered brass in a coordinating pattern and I used the mini leaf chain, garnets and a little glass drop from Unicorn along with handcrafted ear wires from Shannon at Miss Fickle Media.
